It's the 29th of Feb and my wife has proposed?

Yes I know you’re thinking if she's your wife then how can she propose, well she has proposed I do more around the house, the kitchen, and the garden.

Who said romance was dead!

I went to see a lovely family on Tuesday in South Wales they had a little boy who was about 12 months old with great big blue eyes, and they wanted to sell their property and rent it back.

We have agreed on the price that the family required, and they also like the fact that if they want in the future when their situation improves they can buy their home back.

The young lady called me and after we had said
we pay £500 for legal costs she said you don’t need to give me £500 as the legal costs were only £320 + VAT

It was very refreshing as how many people would have done that? We will still pay her the £500.00 so she can spend the extra on her little boy.

You meet some great people in my line of work and it’s just that Life has its ups and downs and most people are just going through a bad patch or had some bad fortune.

I hope this young family get the luck they deserve and I think that her partner has just started a new job so hopefully it’s onward and upward for the couple in Wales!

Bye for now

Watching Disney's Cars Movie for the 50th time!

It's Saturday morning and I’ve been up since 6am with my little boy Danny watching the Disney movie Cars.

It has to be about the 50th time I've seen the film, I think it’s funny watching him as every time he's watching the movie, and it’s as if he’s watching it for the first time.

I went in the kitchen to make the boy's a cup of tea and switched on the radio to hear yet another negative article about the sell to rent back market.

I find it very frustrating because you never hear the stories about the positive areas of our business when selling your home fast can save you thousands of pounds and realise your dreams.

Let me tell you about the time a couple had found a house they dreamed of owning but the property had never come on the market, in fact it seems all the houses in that area only come on the market if someone’s past away.
So they had to move fast and needed a quick sale but with the market at the moment how would they achieve that?

Well they contacted our company K&D Property Buyers and enquired about selling their property fast we went to visit them, they had lived in the house for 26 yrs and had no mortgage, we stepped in bought the house which enabled them to command a £10,000 discount on the new property because they could exchange and complete immediately.

So in summary we helped realise this couples dreams and also helped them save thousands of pounds on the new property ,no estate agents fees to pay we even paid the solicitors fees for them.

Yes we bought the house under market value but we feel it was a Win Win situation as the couple only paid £3,000 for the property and to sell it they would have needed to modernise and decorate it to get any chance of selling the property fast, I'm sure they will be very happy in the New House and wish them all the luck in the world!

I just wish the press would sometimes mention some of the positive scenarios that happen in our business of hassle free property buying instead of the negative.
Well the films finished now, so for those who have watched Cars Kerchowwwww!
If you haven’t you won’t have a clue what I’m talking about.
Bye for now

Flashing Santas and bodged DIY

We can’t believe how quickly time is flying here at K&D Property Buyers – Christmas is creeping up so fast. While we love spotting houses with giant inflatable Santas and flashing elves, we wonder if anyone’s done any research into whether an abundance of Christmas lights might affect how your property is valued ...

Anyway, thought for the week (month? – as we said, time is going so fast) comes from an article on the BBC news website. It says that nearly two-thirds of people have been duped into buying a property in worse condition than they originally thought.

Quick repairs cited include:

* hanging pictures over cracks
* placing rugs over carpet stains
* moving furniture to hide damp patches.

Aaaaargh! You can read the whole article on DIY cover-ups here.

May we suggest … if your house needs lots of bodged DIY jobs doing before you can put it on the market, you might have trouble selling. So don’t delay: sell it to us instead!

New kids on the blog

Welcome to the new blog of K&D Property Buyers. This is the space where we’ll give you lots of information about what we do and who we do it for.

We buy houses from people for all kinds of reasons …

* Maybe they’ve fallen behind with their mortgage repayments and are facing repossession. We offer cash, turn the sale around quickly and pay up to £500 of their solicitors’ fees so they can sort out their debts and get themselves settled and straight for the future.

* Maybe they’ve retired, but only from work … not from the world. It’s amazing how much money is tied up in people’s property. We help them release their equity so they’re free to don their backpacks, kiss goodbye to the grandchildren and live it up for a while somewhere sunny and exciting …

* Maybe they’re stuck in a seemingly endless property chain and need to move quickly. Because we can pay them cash, they’ll be in a very favourable position to make an offer on somewhere new.

We’ll be back soon with more information and advice on moving house. Meanwhile, here’s Forbes’ 2006 list of the most expensive homes in the UK. Ouch!
